Daltons Kuper Moulder sales campaign reaches
the Lake District
T Knipe Limited are the latest company to update their machinery capability with a Kuper Planer/ Moulder from Daltons.
Specialist woodworking machinery distributors and manufacturers Daltons were delighted to obtain the order which represents a further advance in the company’s distribution of Kuper Planer/ Moulders throughout the UK.
T Knipe Limited, situated in Allithwaite in a picturesque part of Cumbria, are very much a family business, so far involving four generations. The company was established in 1921 by Thomas Knipe, a joiner, wheelwright and undertaker and father of the present owner Ken Knipe.
Now reputed joinery manufacturers, undertakers and home-grown sawmills T Knipes customer base extends throughout Cumbria into Lancashire and surrounding areas and the ‘family’ involvement is now boosted by the involvement of Ken Knipe’s son Alistair and his grandson Adam.

The new Kuper SWTXL6 Moulder has been purchased to replace an early SCM design and provides improved performance and the latest technology to an already well mechanised workshop.
Mr Knipe was keen to emphasise the advantages of the new machine and commented “We are very pleased with the new Moulder and are delighted that we chose the Kuper. The machine will I am sure prove to be an excellent purchase and we were well satisfied with the professional service provided by Daltons in delivering, installing and commissioning the equipment.”
Daltons directors Francis Dalton and Andy Walsh visited the Cumbrian sawmill and joinery works in April to assess T Knipe’s requirements and Francis said “It is good to be associated with a prestigious order from an old established company with family history similar to our own, particularly when situated in such a beautiful part of the country.”
The new machine incorporates Siemens touch-screen control with 2000 plus memory settings, chrome beds, digital displays and up-rated feed works to cater for Knipes full range of specialised hardwoods.
