Saom CNC Machining Centres. State of the art European range now available from Daltons
Long established Nottingham based woodworking machinery distributors Daltons have decided to put their 100 years of expertise and industry knowledge behind the products of Italian CNC machinery manufacturer SAOM.
The company admit that they are late-comers to the CNC arena but in line with a general policy of widening their product range in order to further complement their ever increasing customer base they have spent the best part of the last two years researching this sector of the market and looking closely at the machinery which is available.

After visits to the SAOM factory by Daltons technical and sales teams an agreement was reached to market the full SAOM range throughout the UK and Ireland. Subsequently in-house training sessions have been held at the company’s facility in Nottingham under the guidance of SAOM technical staff and the company have also recently been successful in supplying a significant installation, ie SAOM twin-head 3-axis machine, to The Royal National Theatre in London.
Daltons engineers and technical support team took part in the successful installation of this equipment in partnership with engineers from SAOM and the company’s efforts are now focused on what they hope will be another high profile installation. Negotiations are well forward with a major industrial manufacturer and an announcement is expected to be made shortly.
The Daltons sales team are up-beat about the company’s advance into this new technology and Alex Dalton in particular is enthusiastic about combining his IT skills with the knowledge he is rapidly acquiring in connection with marketing of the SAOM machines. Colleague Sean Taylor who already has experience with CNC and was responsible for the National Theatre Company order is also delighted with the opportunity presented by the availability of CNC equipment, particularly when backed by the full weight of the Daltons organisation and in particular their installation, service and aftercare teams.
Director Francis Dalton stresses “SAOM not only manufacture a full range of 3, 4, 5 and 6-axis standard machines but do not shy away from what might be regarded as bespoke applications. Their engineers are happy to design or modify existing models to suit individual customer’s requirements and are therefore keen to discuss any application with a view to submitting a quotation”.
The company currently have a 4-axis machining centre in their Nottingham showroom for viewing and demonstration by appointment and look forward to receiving enquiries from both their existing customer base and elsewhere from anyone requiring a high quality machine backed by professional and comprehensive support.
