W6 Boost for Daltons
Nottingham based woodworking machinery specialist suppliers and
manufacturers Daltons are already
chalking up excellent results from their participation
at W6
The company displayed a wider range of products then ever before, ie totalling
an amazing 44 machines including Stenner Resaws, Elcon Vertical Panel Saws,
Wadkin and Diplomat Classical Machines, Wadkin and Kuper Planer/Moulders,
Fravol Edge Banders, Sedgwick machines and examples from their world renowned
range of rebuilt or remanufactured equipment. Products were spread over
four different stands,
ie the two Daltons stands and two training stands for which the company
had loaned equipment, ie Apprentice Training and Safety Training.

Before the rush, a corner of Daltons stand at W6
Francis Dalton was enthusiastic about the response to the range of Stenner
Band Resaws which were featured and in particular the reception given to
the brand new Stenner ST100E Centre Cutting machine which proved of great
interest to visitors and a popular demonstration.
As usual the company’s exclusive line of Dutch manufactured Elcon Vertical Panel Saws also proved to be a major draw, highlighting in particular this year the new Advance panel handling system amongst a number of other user-friendly features. For the first time ever the company displayed a range of Edge Banding Machines, ie the high quality Italian manufactured Fravol range and this equipment, together with Daltons involvement in the distribution of Saom CNC Machining Centres, represent a considerable widening of the company’s portfolio.
Another first for Daltons was the inclusion of a Kuper XLS
6-Head Planer/Moulder from Germany which together with the Wadkin GD5 Moulder
also displayed represent two ranges of markedly different pedigree, the
Kuper being the first machine from what Daltons hope will be a successful
association with the German supplier and enable the company to market a
high quality alternative to their existing ranges at a price designed to
suit current market expectations.
Classical machines this year were not only represented as in the past by UK manufacturer Wadkin but also embraced an extended Diplomat range which in addition to the established Wide Belt Sanders now includes Planer/Thicknessers, Panel Saws and Routers.
Sales Director Andy Walsh was well satisfied with the company’s performance in what has been a difficult marketplace this year. He said “The widening of our product range for 2006/7 has proved to be very timely and has given us excellent opportunities for increasing our penetration of the market. We are very excited about our involvement with Saom CNC Machining Centres as well as all the other new products which will enable us not only to look after our expanding customer base but also to progress into other areas of the industry”.
Nigel Dalton commented “Orders have been taken on the stand and we have many enquiries right across our product range from the UK, Ireland and elsewhere which give us an excellent opportunity for achieving further business”.
